Chatroom terminology

Dear Fodors
Please help! I was following an interesting debate about posters adding bits of personal info or opinion to add flavour to their travel tips or questions, and several times came across the terms "troll" and "trolling". I posted a question asking what these meant. Now the entire debate has disappeared, so I posted the question again under "general Interest". That too disappeared. This is my third attempt - please enlighten me, and please don't lose the question.
Also, is it possible that an entire still-lively debate can disappear like that one did?

If the web master feels that the debate is gettig too lively it is perfectly possible that it will "disappear" - this may mean that the last couple of posts were very lively indeed!

did you try clicking on your screen name to view any thread you've posted to? looks like at least one of them is still around.

Thank you.
And thanks tinarose for telling me what "trolling" is.

Looks like you've grasped it now. But you can still find the post you mentioned at http://www.fodors.com/forums/threads...p;tid=34477461

Best wishes,

Rex
