Chateau d'Esclimont or Chateau de Fere
Hello All,
Any feedback on either one of these hotels would be much appreciated. Also, would like opinions on surronding area/things to do.
Thanks!

I went to Chateau d'Esclimnot in 1992 for fortieth anniversary - - very special dinner (only), and it was everybit as splendid "in person" as in their pictures. but 10 years old information has to be taken with a huge grain of salt. And we did not spend the night there.

There is a ton to do in a 30 (or 60) minute circle; Versailles, Chartres, Maintenon and much more.

Best wishes,

Rex
I stayed at the Château de Fère outside of Fère-en-Tardenois in May of 2001. It was a beautiful hotel about an hour east of Paris. Since it was the last night of my vacation it was a very easy drive to CDG for a noon departure the next day. The restaurant was excellent. Here is the web site: www.chateauxhotels.com/fere

The little town has an old, wooden covered market. It wasn't running the day I was there, a Tuesday. I'm not sure what it's schedule is. Other than that I don't recall it being a particularly picturesque town, but I didn't spend much time there. Just outside of the town is an American Cemetery, interesting to see but somber. www.abmc.gov/oa.htm

Perhaps I don't really need to make this correction, but those who "know me" know that I was 39 in 1992. It was my parents' fortieth anniversary - - nor mine!
