Chateau de Creancy

Has anyone stayed at this chateau? We are considering it for a 3 night stay in March to see Dijon and the surrounding Burgundy countryside. Thanks.

Hi, you mean CréancEy I suppose. There is only one review on tripadvisor (from 2005)but it is positive.
I hope you'll have a car since Créancey is more than 40km from Dijon. The area is nice, lots of hills and woods, different from the wine coast but not far from it.
Welcome to Burgundy! :-)

We rented the Petite Maison at the Chateau de Creancey for a week in September 2004. We did have a chance to visit the main chateau and it's absolutely beautiful. The property is like a dream. You do need a car, but we found it a great base for exploring Burgundy... about 30 minutes drive to Beaune and Dijon on the autoroute.

Here are some resources that might be helpful to you:

Yes, Creancey, thanks. Kathy, I am glad to hear the positive feedback!

We will be staying at the Chateau D'Ige for 2 nights and then plan to move to the more northern side of Burgundy. We did make a reservation at Chateau de Creancey for 3 nights in the Pauline room.

Our other options, instead of Creancey, were Chateau De Vault De Lugny in Avallon or Chateau de Bellcroix in Chagny, which also sound wonderful. So many great choices! Any reason we should consider one of these two places instead? One factor- we probably would not eat at the Chateau more than once, so other dining options in the area is good.

We will have a car, and do want to visit Dijon for a day, but otherwise just relax, enjoying the towns and countryside. I would prefer to take a train into Dijon if possible.

Thank you for your help,
Margie

Well, I heard back from C. de Vault de Lugny and they are closed through March, so we will definately stay at Chateau de Creancey. Thanks for your input.
