Charming in Siena?

We have reservations at Chiusarelli but from what I've read, there is no view and it's pretty utilitarian. Ravizza,Bernini, Santa Caterina,Antica Torre are all full. Does anyone know of a not-so-well published hotel find in Siena that has female type charm and a view?
Thanks so much!!

When are you going that these places are full?

Many recommend the Duomo, but it's hard to believe that they'd still be available, depending on when you're going.

Do you need to be inside the old city?

You might try the Scacciapensieri but that's most likely booked as well. Hotel Athena has gotten good reviews on this forum. Chiusarelli has gotten some bad ones. There really aren't any hotels with great views in Siena--the great views are when you walk in the city itself.

Gluck and Kam -
Thanks for your response. We'll be there March 14. The reason for the panic is that our reservations at another hotel got cancelled just now because of renovations. I was today able to get two doubles at the Duomo.
At lease there is a choice now.I'm traveling with my mom and want something nice.

I'm amazed Hotel Athena has got good reviews. I thought it was vile and spoilt the end of my holiday. Tatty tourist hotel, basic - bordering on youth hostel quality bedroom, grotty bathroom with constantly dripping tap and frayed towels, mini-bar that obviously hadn't been restocked in weeks, shall I go on?
