Charming hotels

We would greatly appreciate suggestions for quality, charming (yet affordable!!) hotels/inns in a convenient location in London.
The same in Malmo and Vaxjo, Sweden area.
Thanks!

Have you considered a search on the web, a trip to your local bookstore, performing a search on this forum?????

Well Tara, who says she hasn't already searched the web, read books, searched the forum? She's asking a simple question for some current first-hand advice. Sheesh.

DeeDee,
What is your price range? What do you consider moderate? You'd get better responses if you gave us some guidelines.
London is expensive. I had a hard time finding a B&B for under $125. I would check this forum, the Karen Brown website ( she specializes in charming places), and thumb through one of those
"Charming Hotels of.." books.Rick Steves might have a few tips also. I am staying at the LIME TREE B&B, which SOUNDS cozy, but who knows.
Can't help you with Sweden, but others probably can...

Michele

DeeDee
Michele is right, people would be better able to help if they knew your price range; affordable is in the eye of the beholder.
It is true that you will find lots on London if you Search this forum for London hotel
good luck

I feel Tara's pain. Charming, affordable and convenient is in the eye of the beholder. Besides, in London you are lucky to get two out of three.
If you want a lot of information regarding hotels try a search using www.dogpile.com.
Hope this helps.

I stayed in a really charming hotel in Malmo. It's called Hotel Baltzar, great location, nice staff. I was very comfortable and happy there-wish I could have stayed longer. I think it was reasonalby priced.

You can find it at www.baltzar.ipro.se/hb-eng.html

**If you're in Malmo you should take the 40 minute ferry to Copenhagen-great city!
