charming hotel in Prague?

Hello - my husband will be in Germany 6/26-28th and I have an opportunity to join him on the 28th for along weekend possibly in Prague. We're wondering if anyone can recommend a charming hotel - small-ish but with character, ambience etc. It will be our anniversary while we are there. Other option would be to meet him in Shannon for the 5 or 6 days. He's been to Prague before and stayed at the Marriott. Thanks!

How about the Hotel Metamorphis? It meets all of the criteria in your post and is perfectly situated in a small square behind the main square (directly behind the Tyn Church). Thus you are right next to "all the action" but in much quieter situation. There is a great coffee shop in the corner of the little square.

my husband and i love the U Tri Bubnu Hotel because it was quiet, yet in the absolute middle of the historic center. we could walk everywhere easily. it is not luxury, but it was very clean. charming in a budget sort of way... but they did make an effort. i looked at their current web site, and i think the pictures they use offer a pretty accurate representation. stairs only... and we were in the attic... but we just didn't mind because it was such a great location. (and it didn't hurt looking out our window at the fabulous rooftops and spires.
