charming hotel in Amsterdam?

Hello - I'm looking for a charming (nice, clean, well located) hotel in amsterdam for a long weekend in early May. We've done the large places on other trips and this time, I'd love to find a smaller, more elegant place. Thanks!

The Toren is a very nice three-star hotel right in the center of the city, and I believe it has about 40 rooms, all of which have the odd configurations kind of typical of Amsterdam buildings.

You might check out Hotel Jan Luykenstraat. I have never been able to find a website for the hotel, but it's in a charming area; near the Van Gogh Museum and Vondelpark. I usually stay at Hotel Fita (www.fita.nl) down the street from it. While Fita is charming, small and in a great location, I wouldn't call it elegant.

t'Hotel on the Leliegracht. It's a place I almost hate to tell anyone about. Eight rooms, location on the one of the quietest, sweetest canals in Amsterdam. Cleanliness and charm galore, but no elevator. So calm and un-touristy, you'll never know you're just a hop and a jump from downtown. Website is: www.thotel.nl

Jan Luyken is part of the Bilderberg group; website is probably www.bilderberg.nl.
It's a nice hotel, in an excellent location, steps away from the museums and the best shopping street in Amsterdam. I don't know what your budget is, but sometimes you can get good deals through the group's own website.
