Glad you found a hotel you liked. Not in the Marais, but I had a good sized balcony (think the hotel called it a terrace) at Hotel Dames du Pantheon a couple of years ago. Here is a pic of my breakfast on the little terrace, quite the enjoyable touristic fantasy and it all worked out just fine.

Hi guys,

Thanks for all the nice tips & kind words - loved the hotels you suggested but so many got booked up so quick :(

For those who asked, we ended up dividing nights between these 2:
1. Hotel 123 Sébastopol - 10-15min walk from Le Marais which we will try, funky light filled rooms styled after classic French film stars, and yes some cute balconies with city/street views and table/chairs to eat your free breakfast which is included. Hotel also offers free pastries during the day etc. Seems to be highly rated online so will let you know how it pans out.

@Leely2, your pic above is exactly what I was dreaming of actually. Glad to know there are such options and will save this recc for future.

2. Pullman Hotel - this one is actually in a totally diff place, right by Eiffel. We were unsure because it's a bit generic modern, but we got intrigued by the Eiffel Tower right in your face photos and reviews and wanted to check it out for a night. (disclaimer it's only when you're on the balcony looking right, but still looks fun if that's what you're into!)

Also found nice choices for view balconies at Hotel Powers, Hotel Brighton (panoramic views and french windows but no sitting balcony), Atala, Le Littre (farther away but sick eiffel view on terrace!), and more. So... yes, it's possible!

I'm curious if anyone has or would ever indulge in the Shang-ri La balcony view option - so so so expensive but the photos :0

Bonne chance!

The Pullman is the old Hilton which is itself an iconic structure because of its fabulous views of the tower. I was at the hotel a month or so ago visiting a friend staying there. The Pullman has been updated and seemed very comfortable. If you get a room on the ET side, you will love it.

Hotel 123 Sébastopol looks like a fun hotel. Not stuffy at all.

Oh - my SIL and her husband have stayed at the Sébastopol twice and loved it. It's a bit off the beaten track but it fun and comfortable. It's on my list of places to stay the next time I'm in Paris.
