Charming and picturesque dining spots near St Remy de Provence

We will be staying in St Remy for two weeks in July. I would love some personal recommendations for restaurants nearby with a lovely view or that quintessential shady garden or terrace, as well as good food of course. For example, La Cabro d'or at Les Baux looks beautiful. we have dined previously at La Table d'yvan and Le Jardin du quai which both had a gorgeous setting. Less expensive ideas would be welcome, as well as any favourite village bistros which overlook the local scene. Cheers.

Hi toni,

We had a delicious lunch at the Bistrot Mogador (at the Chateau d'Estoublon). We dined on their terrace and then wandered around the estate a bit.

Another fab lunch was at the Cafe de la Place in St. Remy after a visit to les Antiques and the Mausolee (yummy salads with seared tuna and pasteque).

Probably our best meal was at Le Tracteur in the Gard (about 10 mins from the Pont du Gard). We had an ok lunch at the Chateau des Baux in Les Baux itself after a visit to the castle.

Our last lunch was in Maussane les Alpilles at Pizza Brun - the pizza with the lardons, honey and goat cheese is to die for!

We didn’t end up eating at the Bistro de Paradou since DH is not really a wine drinker and the all you can eat price would be wasted on him. But it gets raves (I think it was made famous by Peter Mayle?).

Bon appetit!

When we stayed in St Remy in April of 2015 we really enjoyed our time at the little wine village of Chateauneuf-du-Pape. We did not eat at this restaurant but on a mid-afternoon visit we had a glass of wine while enjoying the view from Le Verger des Papes at the top of the hill near the ruins of the Pope's castle. It gets good reviews on TripAdvisor.

Pictures 89 through 112 in the link below are from our visit to the village, a wine tasting at a nearby winery and our drive through the surrounding area.
