Charm bracelet
I have a gold charm bracelet for which I buy a charm in every city I travel to. Does anyone know a good place in Paris to buy a gold charm -- I usually try to get something that represents the city (such as Eiffel Tower or Notre Dame). Thanks

I am a charm bracelet collector too - have 8 bracelets now, a bit obsessive. If you are planning on going to the flea markets, you may find something vintage there. The vintage charms usually have more detail and are a bit more unusual. The Paris kiosk charm is nice but I don't think you can find it new anymore.
If you want new charms, try pretty much any of the big souvenir shops on the Rue de Rivoli under the arcades. I found a funny gargoyle from Notre Dame in one of those shops last year but didn't keep the name of the place. |
I also collect gold charms for my bracelet while on trips. I found a very nice Eiffel Tower charm at a small jewelry store on Rue St Honore. It was a boutique type place that a buzzer had to be rung to get into the store. The charm was well priced at about $80 or so--great quality. If you go to Amsterdam be sure to visit Costers--the diamond cutting place. They have a great assortment of gold charms--windmills, wooden shoes, etc for really good prices. Most were around $40.

I used to have a silver charm bracelet back in the 60's. Actually, I still have it, but haven't added anything since the early 70's. I did not know you could still get charms as we did back then.

Brazilnut, in the past five years, I have bought silver charms for my bracelet in Mexico, Florida, Arizona, London, Paris, Venice, Florence & Rome. Yes, they are certainly still around!

And you know where I find the best ones? eBay. Because a lot of the smaller cities no longer make their own special charm.

Hi,
I also buy a charm for each city / trip I take. In Paris I found a gold Notre Dame charm at the gift shop at Sainte Chappelle. |
