Hey! So at the end of the month I am flying into France via the Charles de Gaulle airport. I am meeting up with my sister who is already in Europe. She will be taking a train from Prague to Frankfurt and finally to Paris. I was wondering if anyone knew a good way for us to meet up? I've read a lot about the airport, looked at maps etc. but I'm just not sure where a meeting point would be most convenient, whether that would be somewhere in the Airport or actually in the city. Oh and I don't speak a word of French, if that helps. Thanks!

Are you staying at a hotel in Paris? If so, could you just meet there?

I would just meet at a designated easy-to-locate place in Paris. Not sure why someone would want to go from Prague to Frankfurt to Paris and then out to the airport and back, especially as it's probably harder to find someone at the airport than it is at a well-known spot in Paris.

There is no point in her coming to the airport if she is not flying.

agree w/ all of the above. Please don't send your sister out to CDG. Absolutely no need. Just meet at you Paris hotel.

Don't worry about speaking French -- though it is always a good idea to learn a few phrases/words if only to thank folks or to read menus . . . . .

Thanks for all the advice! My sister and I had agreed to meet at the airport but I thought it would be a little tricky to find each other there with the trains and whatnot. I'll get a hold of her and talk to her about meeting someplace else. thanks again!

CDG can be a zoo and quite unpleasant if one is flying through it -- to travel to CDG just to meet up w/ someone would be even worse IMO.

Are you two staying in Paris? if so, the logical place to meet would seem to be your hotel.

It isn't just that it may be difficult to find each other, but it's about 15 miles outside the city, so it doesn't make sense for her to come into Paris and then go out to CDG to meet you. Don't you have a hotel you are staying at or something? Your sister sounds like a saint if she agreed to take another train about 15 miles after spending hours on one from Prague to Paris (or days) just to meet you at the airport.
