Charles Bridge Reconstruction - Any News?
Any up-to-date news on the reconstruction of the Charles Bridge in Prague?
Starting date? I've read in a few places 'this summer'. Any exact dates of disruptions? We'll be there June 1 - 5.
What kind of access will there be?
etc.
Thanks.

If all else fails, before you go you can look at the live webcam that shows the bridge. I've been looking at it all the time leading up to my trip to see the crowds at different times of day, weather, etc. http://www.hejda.cz/Camery/praha1.htm

I received an email from a newspaper in Prague and it appears that the work won't begin until July (we're going the first few days of June) and the Bridge won't be completely closed.
There will be a 4m wide walkway.

I left Prague about a week ago and there's no sign of contruction preparations yet.
What is going on around the bridge right now: One statue on the far-Castle Quarter end of the bridge is being restored and is covered in scaffolding, but that's not part of the bigger project.
The river is in high flood and the city has put up some metal floodwalls in the Castle Quarter in case the water keeps rising, but there was no major problem there yet. Pretty impressive flow, though.
Prague and its bridge do not disappoint.
