Charging digital camera batteries
 

What type of an adapter do I need for my Nikkon digital camera charger? We will be in the UK, Germany and Austria. I just realized that I'll have to plug in to charge my batteries!

Look at the raised print on your charger...Most likely it's dual voltage, whereupon you'll need only a plug adapter.

First, check to see if your Nikon charger is 110/240 v. Most likely, it is, in which case all you'll need are travel adapters.

You can get a set of travel adapters at Radio Shack or your local Walmart, Target, Kmart, Staples, you get the idea. They shouldn't cost more than about $11 a pack, and should include all the adapters you might ever need around the world. They look similar to this http://tinyurl.com/prn4r

Any place that sells luggage should also sell these plug adapters. Make sure you don't get the converters, as your equipment most likely won't need converters, but check each electronic item you intend to bring just to be safe.

If you have more than 1 electric item to bring, you might want to bring along a power strip to use with that plug adapter so you don't have to purchase more than 1 plug adapter set.

When I shopped for adaptors last summer, Target had the best price.

It's a lithium ion battery charger and it says, on the back,
Input: 100v-240v ~50/60Hz

It doesn't say 110v. Do I still only need an adapter?

You don't need a votage converter, but an adaptor for the shape of the plug.

you will need 2 different adaptors. the UK uses a 3 pronged plug, with 3 flat prongs, and they use a 2 pronged plug with 2 round prongs on the continent. so make sure you have at least 2.

I don't remember where I got it (10 years ago) but I got a small pack of about 8 plug adaptors before my first trip to the UK. I still have them, and have only used two -- I think the whole pack was under $10 at the time.
