PSKid,
Would you mind posting quantitative info? Plenty of time means different things to different people. Such info would be useful for those traveling with shorter layover as well. How many minutes did it take you from the time you got off the plane to go through the passport control, and then the carry-on check, and then walk to the departure gate area?

We are trying to remember how much time it took. The plane landed on time at 5:50AM. Passport control and the security check were very quick. We walked, not very fast, directly to the gate and we had a long wait to board the next plane. I believe we got to the gate at about 6:30. The next flight was 7:55.

When we flew back to Amsterdam from Budapest, the process was a bit longer. The flight arrived on time at 8:20AM. The next flight departed at 11:10. When we got to the gate we had time to sit down and look in nearby stores, but they checked passports and boarding passes at the gate and then we had to walk into an adjacent area for a security check, which was rather time-consuming. It was good that we had the extra time between these flights.
