changeover time 50 min : cdg termial 2 tgv to terminal 3
 

Hi all,

I 've run in a situation. I reach tgv station in cdg (terminal 2) at 1735 and I've to take an easyJet flight to NCL which departs at 1825. I have already printed my boarding pass ... so now I can reach the security directly latest 25 min before departure ie. by 1800.

Please help me... I think I'll need to take shuttle number 5 to terminal 3. I have following questions.

1. How much time will it take ? Infact will it be possible for me to take the flight ;)?

2. I was looking at the maps of CDG. and there were 3 colors (red,blue,purple) associated with the shuttles (navette). I want to know the significance of it so that I don't get confused there.

3. Do I have to take care of the direction while taking the shuttle ? If so, which is the right direction from tgv gare to terminal 3 ?

ps - Initially I read somewhere that terminal 3 is only 10 mins walk from the train station. So I made the bookings. Later I found out that there are two stations in cdg... and the tgc one is in terminal 2 and not walkable, if i guess correctly... :(

Welcome to the forum. IMO you have two chances of making that Easy Jet flight:

1.Slim
2.None

P.S. Why can't you take an earlier train to CDG?

I have not found an online map route of the CDG navettes, but I know the routes are posted at the bus stop at the TGV station. The navettes go by both color and number. From the maps on www.adp.fr, you should have two navettes - the red and the pink - that goes from TGV to Terminal 3. One of them is probably #5.

Those navettes have circular routes, so there is no "directions" to worry about.

There's only one lane for all buses and shuttles at the TGV station. So, no need to figure out where to board. All of them board from same spot. Which leads to the main problem - that loading place can be really busy and buses/shuttles may take a while to get there.

I don't know how long it will take, but you're definitely cutting it extremely close. I believe the shuttles still have to make another stop at CDG2B/D. Who knows how long that stop will take...

Also, at the TGV station, The shuttle stop is at Level 5 (top level) of the station, on the north side (i.e. Lille/Brussels side). The south (Paris) side of Level 5 is taxi stand.

Most definitely try to take an earlier train. I personally do not think you can make that easyJet flight if your train arrives at 1735.

I'm not sure if this will be of any help to you, but I connected through CDG on Monday, and found, in addition to the time it took for the the bus, that the security was unbelievably tight. We landed at 2B and took the shuttle to 2E. We lost count of the number of times that we had to show our passport or boarding card, but it was at least 10. There were checkpoints in the middle of nowhere, checkpoints to board the bus, etc.

The security screening took forever, as there is an attendant at each conveyor who questions you and loads your stuff on him/herself (wearing gloves). Each person was then patted down. Then after that, there is hand checking of most/much hand luggage. Then if you're going to the US, there is another security line with more checking. It took us 1.5 hours from the first plane to the second gate. After that, there was a shuttle bus from the gate to the tarmac for the second plane.

We had a 2hr 20 minute connection and pretty much needed every minute. And we didn't even go landside.

On the bright side for those with tight connections, they did hold the plane for 45 minutes for 30 people who were wending their way through security.

Thanks a lot for your replies... So now i found out that the easyJet doesn't do online check in for france flights.... So now... I booked the earlier train which reaches CDG at 1230... and my flight is at 1825....

So any suggestions, how to kill those 6 hours, besides getting to CDG to perfection, so that I can answer any of the future CDG queries ;)
