Champagne

Which is the most convienent town to stay in? Rheims or Epernay?

The main question is your means of transport, car or train?

If you are in a car, a small village may be most convenient, if you come by train, Reims is most accessible.

Of course, Reims has most attractions in town, esp. the cathedral.

If you want to visit caves, both towns are equal.

If you want a really unique experience and are not tight on budget, you better stay in one of those villages and visit one of those family-owned wineries.

My personal favourite was always Chateau d'Etoges for accomodation and Launois among the wineries. But this requires a car.

If you want to go more upscale and enjoy Michelin-starred cuisine, La Briqueterie would be my choice.

My husband and I stayed in Reims at the beautiful Chateau Les Crayeres. We hired a guide and driver for a day who took us to the Houses of Tattinger, Dom Perignon and to the local House of G. Tribeau. Unbelievable experience and an outstanding hotel. Worth every Euro.
We have amazing memories from that trip!
Enviously,
