Chamonix Panaromic Chair lift up to Mont Blanc

Hi ! I have half day in Chamonix and is interested in taking Aguille Du Midi Cable car but I am not sure if it will be too rush for me to do it since I have to take 4 pm bus from Chamonix to Geneva.

Please advice me. I will be going to Chamonix in end of November. When I try to find more information about this and the time table for the cable car but it all seems so complicated as I understand that there are multiple cable car going up Mont Blanc from different place of the foot of Mont Blanc.

If you read the info here it recommends 2-3 hours.

http://www.compagniedumontblanc.co.u...guille-du-midi

The ride itself only takes 20 mins so if you just want to go up and down it would likely take less. They run every 30 mins according to the timetable

This is the slowest time of year in Switz and typically when things are renovated before the uberbusy ski season starting in Dec.

The gondolas are closed but the cog wheel railway to Montenvers will run.
I don't think that there will be a Geneva bound bus at 4pm

Just some facts.

No transportation to Mont Blanc itself. The closest is Aiguille du Midi.

Not a chair-lift. A large gondola cabin.

> This is the slowest time of year in Switz ..

Chamonix > France

Normally there is this key-tour bus the leaves Geneva around 8h00 for Chamonix and return should be around 16h00 / 16h30. I have not checked the actual time table but it has been like this since a looong time so I would be surprised there is no such bus any longer.

Often when A.d.Midi is not running, people take the cable car to le Brévent ( more spectacular than Montenvers, I would say ). The Brévent cable car seems to be running as well in Nov. Only 2525m altitude ( vs. A d.Midi at 3800m and Mer de Glace - Montenvers at 1900m) but the view is indeed very good, you will see all the mountains of Mont Blanc chain + glaciers such as the bosson Glacier in front of you across the Chamonix Valley. Besides, the ticket costs about the half of A.d.Midi I think.

The only thing I can do during this period of time when I'm in Chamonix would be the Montenvers tram. Does anyone know how long does one should spend on this tram? I have whole morning and afternoon up till around 4.30 pm as I am taking 5 pm bus to Geneva on Saturday.

You can go wherever you want to, but on foot.
Take into account that the difference of altitude between Chamonix and the alpages is about 3333 feet and plan engough time for the steep ascents.
