Chamonix or Megeve

Which village would you prefer to stay in for summer(Fall) walking & fun?

I thought we had just had this same thread in the last week, but I can't find it. Do look at the thread I topped about Lyon-Grenoble-Annecy as that contains some comments regarding your towns. I have only been to Chamonix for one short day and have vowed to return. There just seemed to be so much to do there that our next trip will probably include 4 nights there at least. The little train that comes up from the France side was filled with walkers getting on and off at every stop. The entire region is covered with great hikes. There are a lot of restaurants in Chamonix.

I would say megeve I'v been so many times there and I realy enjoyed this little town style !! I'v been to chamonix as well but for me it is less friendly. The good thing about megeve is also the big swimming pool at summer it's realy nice to sunbath with an amazing view of the montains.
