Chamonix in May

What is Chamonix/Mont Blanc like in mid-May? Will it be difficult to drive in this area? Do you have any suggestions on where to stay?

In May, the snow is mostly finished, although in some cases it has snowed into early June. Nonetheless, the roads will be quite navigable, I'm sure. If you live in the northern climes, you will find Chamonix cool. If you live in the southern latitudes, you will find it downright cold most of the time. That's not to say that it won't be different, but those are the averages.

Actual temperature ranges? Typically about 30-40F in the evening, and 45-55F during a sunny day.

My favorite hotel is the Hotel Mont-Blanc, but there are quite a few in town.
