Chamonix hotels, B&B or gite

Does anyone have a recommendation for a hotel, B&B, or gite in the Chamonix area for a family of four for less than $100 a night? Thanks

B&B in Chamonix with what must be the most spectacular window view on earth: We were high on the slope above the village, looking across at the Aiguille du Midi (one could see a little red speck - it was the cable car!), Mont Blanc, etc. Three guest rooms, breakfast in the dining room with walls of glass looking out at the mountains, and friendly, sophisticated hosts. A garden in which to sit and watch the setting sun light up the mountains. We found this in either Fodor's Rivages B&B Book or Alistair Sawday's French B&Bs. In 1997 it was around 300 ff per couple!
M. et Mme. Gazagnes, "La Girandole", 46, chemin de la Perseverance, 74400 Chamonix-Mont Blanc
I highly recommend the Red Mountain Lodge, on rue Joseph Vallot, near the center of town. It's mentioned in the 1999 Lonely Planet Western Europe, I believe; I don't have their number handy at the moment but I can post it later. Lots of cozy wood paneling, sloping eaves, skylights, great views (but then, most of the views in Chamonix are great). We paid 220 FFr per night for a room with bath in the hallway. You can get ensuite rooms. The owners are lovely; it's Aussie-run and very friendly.
