What is least expensive way to get from CDG airport to Orly airport? Is their direct metro? #, cost? Merci.

Air France operates public bus service directly between the two airports. My wife and I used the service summer before last. Don't remember exactly the price but was not expensive.

The Air France bus costs 16€ and is door-to-door.

The <i>least expensive</i> way is to ride the city buses, which I can explain if you want to really squeeze Euros - but it takes a couple of hours and several changes.

A fairly comfortable alternative is to ride the RER B (suburban train) to Denfert-Rochereau (8,20&euro;), then take the Orlybus from there to the airport (6,20&euro;). Elapsed time: about an hour.

If you'll be in Paris for several hours and want to stop off and see some sights, buy a one-day <i>Paris Visite</i> card for Zones 1-6. This will get you from CDG to ORY plus <u>all over Paris</u> for 17.05&euro;.

From CDG take the RER to Antony. If it does not stop there (look on the lighted board to see its stops), transfer in Denfert-Rochereau for a train that will take you there (the train will arrive on the same platform; the lighted board on the platform will indicate the stops). At Antony you can take the Orlyval light rail (free). You purchase your ticket to Antony at the CDG station.

CDG and Orly are on the same RER B line, with an automatic connection at Antony for the last section to Orly.

According to the <i>STIF Guide Tarifaire</i> (July 1, 2007), the Orlyval fare from Antony to Orly is 9,30&euro;. The footnote says &quot;This line can only be used with a special ticket or Paris Visite.&quot;

Sorry. I assumed that the price paid was to Antony because it is out of Paris proper.

Digging deeper: www.orlyval.com/eu/achat_eu.htm says that from Orly, it's 9,30&euro; to Paris, or 7,20&euro; to Antony. So RER B plus Orlyval would cost more than Air France. But if you get the <i>Paris Visite</i>, the Orlyval is included.

Incidentally, the change of trains at Antony isn't particularly convenient, as you alight on the west side of the tracks coming from Paris, and the Orlyval station is on the east side. So you have to go up, across, and down.

Nope - it's the other way around. RER trains run on the left (in standard operations). Thus, trains coming from Paris call at Antony on the eastern platform. Simply walk back towards the Paris end of the platform, go through the turnstiles, and voil&agrave;, Orlyval is there waiting for you.

Up, across and down is when arriving from Orly.

Oops. Of course, you're right. I should know better - I went in and out of Antony a dozen times last month!

I'm interested in hearing about your <i>least expensive</i> way. I can come up with a route doable on 3 'T+' tickets (i.e. 4.5&euro; at retail price or 3.33&euro; from a Carnet) :

- Bus 607b from Roissyp&ocirc;le-CDG1 station to La Courneuve-8 mai 1945

- M&eacute;tro Line 7 to Porte de Choisy

- Bus 183 to Orly - South Terminal.

But I'd count on at least 4 hours from start to end, if everything runs &quot;smooth&quot;. Besides, line 607b runs at erratic and sparse intervals. But you can't beat the price.
