Cesky Krumlov to Austria (Kufstein)?
Hi,
My husband and I are going to Prague in August and are interested in spending the night in Cesky Krumlov. After we leave the Czech Republic we are heading to Kufstein in Austria. We can get there from Prague through Munich or Vienna but I am wondering (and having trouble finding) if we could leave from here or a town nearby like Cesky Budejovice and get there in a timely way. I hate backtracking if it isn't necessary... Thanks, Karmagal |

Sorry about the incomplete post. We are assuming that train is the fastest way but are open to other options. Thanks, Karmagal

Well, It seems like I might have partially answered my question. There are bus/train combos that go from Cesky Krumlov to Kufstein but not on the weekend which is when we were wanting to travel. Any other ideas?

I don't know where Kufstein is, but we travelled by car from Cesky Krumlov to Durnstein Austria (about 1.5 hours maybe??? we make photo stops and the gps takes us on all kinds of goat paths...)...
Durnstein is on the Danube, very small village surrounded by vineyards. Pretty. Tour Boats stop there. But we did not know or care because during the day we were on rental bikes traveling only 15 or so km along the Danube thru great little towns with wine/schnapps stops etc... along the way. Such a pleasant way to spend a day. Northern Austria is beautiful. Enjoy your trip. In Durnstein, we stayed at Sanger Blondel. Comfortable, if bit of a smallish room, with a great view. Great people in that little willage. I want to go back to Durnstein during the Fall Grape Harvest and "volunteer" ..... it seems that's how the grapes get harvested! Locals and visitors pitch in. What a cool idea! |
