Cesky Krumlov
Which is the best tour company in Prague for a one day trip to Cesky Krumlov? How long is the bus ride from Prague?
|
I am topping this because I would like to know too. Thanks!

We are considering the day trip with Cedok, but it is 10 hours and we wonder how much of it will be on the bus. Also, is Cedok recommended? Any thoughts and comments on a day trip to Cesky Krumlov would be appreciated.

3 hours each way by ordinary bus. Time table on www.idos.cz

i can't answer your specific question but I can tell you it is worth the trip. I took the train from Prague-Budelovice and then caught a bus over to CK. Probably a three hour trip or so. But it is worth it!@ A truly neat place.

EC, I see from your postings you have been planning a May trip to Prague and Cesky Krumlov. We are planning the same for July. Would love to hear your feedback when you return. If no one else answers my inquiries by then, perhaps you will. Thanx.

I can't tell you the best because I only took one -- it was Martin Tours, I believe. The guide was good and the tour itinerary okay (we saw some extra things on the way), but their minibus left a lot to be desired for comfort (hard seats). I did take a tour to Kutna Hora through the group affiliated with Cedok (Prague Sightseeing) and it was excellent, and better buses even though the trip was shorter -- so, I don't think you can go wrong if that's the company.
You can't avoid the time on the bus/minivan, that's how far it is--close to 3 hrs each way, as I recall. I enjoy seeing the countryside, but that's why it is important for a comfortable bus. It will be quicker than public transportation as you won't have the transfer problem. |
we went the other day, and it was very beautiful. i reccomend going to the brewery there too. iggenburg i think it was. if you go to the stand outside, and get a beer for 7 crowns
