Cesky Krumlov

We wish to visit Cesky Krumlov from Prague; is it best to get onto a day tour or are we able to do it ourselves using public transport?

It's up to you. Both public transport and all kinds of shuttles are available. Google for them, it takes a few seconds.

We took CK Shuttle last year from Prague to CK and found them unprofessional. We also took Sebastian Shuttle from CK to Linz and were very pleased. Another good alternative which seems to be popular is the Student Agency Bus which goes from Prague to CK.

Actually, to answer your question, you can do a day trip on your own as CK is small. We spent the night and enjoyed the quaint city.

You can do it yourself. Also recommend spending a night if you can.

Do get tickets to the tour of the baroque theater at the castle. One of the few remaining in the world. Only a limited number of people are allowed in each day.

Thank you so much for all your suggestions. Unfortunately due to time constraints we wont be able to stay the night.
