ceramics in tuscany...

Can anyone suggest a store or market where I can find some nice ceramics in Tuscany?
I am primarily looking for large serving bowls or platters
We will be visiting Greve, Radda, San G and Castellina in Chianti.
As always, thanks for the help!

I have the perfect place! In San G. Called the M.B. Shop di Bartali Marco Loc Sant'Andrea 31 tel 0577941853. Ask for Marco. Here is their e-mail so perhaps they can give you directions: [email protected]. They are on the main street not far into town on the right. I bought many many serving pieces and had them all shipped home. Unfortunately a few got broke in shipment. They were so kind to work with. Actually remade the 3 pieces for a lazy susan from my photos & measurements. No extra cost to us. I could send you pictures. They had many designs to chose from. Get spices in Castellina! I was just using mine today & wished I had a way of getting more. The Le Torres restaurant in Castellina was wonderful too. As was a trip to Verranazzo winery for lunch/tour outside of Greve. Enjoy!

PeggyE- thanks for the info. I"d love to see your photos, my email is [email protected]. I think I'll carry my purchase back with me rather than risk breakage. I only plan to purchase 1 or 2 pieces so that won't be too bad.
Anyone else have a recommendation?

Perhaps a bit north or west of you, but Artesia, a charming small shop/studio, in Certaldo is my favorite. (A nice day trip across lovely country ;^) I brought several well priced pieces home in 2000, and visited again in 2006. You can see photos of their shop & patterns (and the 2 lovely women who do the work) in this gallery:

Glad my 'find' fits for you, dperry. I feel better about buying where I can feel a personal connection of some kind with the person/s I'm buying from--also supporting local artisans. Most of what I brought home has a story which goes with it about my interaction with the artist.

Glad you enjoyed the photos.
