Central London hotels in 100GBP range
 

I'm traveling (alone) to London in October, and would appreciate some Central London hotel recommendations in the 85 to 100GBP range.

Use Priceline and bid on a 4-star, and you should be able to get something in the USD85 to USD100 range. I just stayed this weekend at the Holiday Inn Kensington Forum for USD100 per night.

The Kensington zone usually yields something. If you want something a little more central, try the Marble Arch zone, but it might cost you closer to USD125 or so.

Go to biddingfortravel.com and betterbidding.com, if you are not familiar with Priceline. Several here can also help guide you.

I can't imagine it would be worth the extra money to go any other route.

Try the Premier Inn. It's a chain, formerly known as Travel Inn. There are several locations around London. As long as you're on a tube line, you'll find your way around. (The Circle, yellow, Line encompasses most of central London.)

There are lots of affordable options in your price range in the Bloomsbury/Russell Square area; staying here will allow you to walk to many areas in "central" London.

The chain "Imperial London Hotels" has several properties in this area. I've stayed in a few of them (Imperial, President, Royal National). They offer basic rooms with either a full English or a continental breakfast. They tend to attract large tour groups at times and are often pretty booked.

In addition, this area has loads of Bed & Breakfasts in your price range.

instead of an "affordable" (meaning semi-down market) £85 - £100 hotel - use Priceline. It will get you a 4 star, full service hotel for half that much -- plus you'll get a double or twin room so it will be larger than a single in those £85-£100 hotels

The California and the Chesterfield are located near King's Cross/Pancras and a triple is app. 110BP, includes full breakfast. Both are very nice and clean...Nice staff as well.

We stayed at The Grand at Trafalgar Square in December. We booked online at expedia. I forget what we paid (we did air and hotel together) but I remember it was VERY reasonable and the hotel was centrally located. We'd stay there again.
