Cell Phones in France
We're spending a month in France in May. I'm seeing lots of "deals" on-line to lease before we leave. Should we wait until we get to France. Will we get a better price?
Thanks for any help on this.

I spent six weeks in France last spring and I bought a cellphone there when I arrived. I bought one at Orange for 89€. Incoming calls are free and for your outgoing, you buy a mobicarte for however much money you want to spend. The bigger card you buy, the less per minute the cost. I generally put about 30€ per recharge on my mobicarte. Best money I ever spent - wish I had bought one the very first time I went to France five years ago.

Over the last 5 years, we've been using a tri-band Siemens that our local Cingular wireless threw in with our plan subscription. I had them provide me the "unlock" code and my wife and I use the phone on travels to Europe and Asia with pre-paid local SIM cards. I would have gladly bought a phone on EBay back then, knowing that having your own phone would be so handy for travelling.
