Cell phone in Ireland

Has anyone purchased a cheap phone from Tesco while in Ireland? Where did you pick one up? Was it charged? Did you have to buy a charger or was one provided?

If you are in the time frame to get a new cell phone, the new phones with plans in the US now work in Europe. They can't be blocked. The cell phone company will charge you a fee, which varies (I asked and it wasn't too expensive). If you don't want to pay anything but want to use your cell phone you can ask them to show you how to set it for Data (I forget how to do it) and you can use your cell phone for the Internet.
