Celebration Dinner Suggestions?

Can anyone recommend a restaurant for our parents 50th wedding anniversary dinner in June. We will be 20 people coming from the US and France. We are looking for great food, drink and atmosphere. It should festive and casual. We are less worried about price and more concerned that it is a good atmosphere. Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Dear HaHa - It would probably help if you identified where you are going to be!

It seems that I may have started the celebration a little early.

We will be in Madrid.

Thanks

HaHa and HoHo -

I don't blame you. I'm always in favor of celebarting. Unfortunately, I've never been to Madrid so can't help. You might want to repost your thread with Madrid in the headline so that those in the know will bother to read your question.

When will you be arriving in June? There are a number of great restaurants to consider, but you will have to reserve well in advance for a goup as large as yours.

I can recommend the following:

La Broche, Miguel Angel 29-31, just off Paseo Castellana.

Restaurante Santceloni, Paseo de la Castellana 57.

La Manduca de Azagra, Sagasta 14. (the owners are from Navarra and have a very popular following in Madrid)

Restaurante Orixe, C/Cava Baja 17. The is a great Galcian restaurante and would be perfect for your group.

El Chaflan, Avendia Pio, 34

la Giralda: 4-restaurants specializing in Andaluz decor & cuisine. A cousin in the entertainment business invited us to dine at c/Maldonado, 4 (Barrio de Salamanca) just off c/Serrano.
Another is at c/Claudio Coello, 24. Both are close to the U.S. Embassy

We enjoyed it very much!

Of course, as Robert wrote, advance reservations would be required for such a large party. If you can't book the one on c/Maldonado, you could try one of the other three.

Thank you Robert and Ned. I’ve been checking out your recommendations and they all look good. We will be in Madrid during the second week of June. Our group is growing, so I will make a reservation soon.

Cheers.
