CDW Coverage - Non Coverage

This is to update everyone interested in CDW coverage with Mastercard Platinum/Gold. I am on the phone with Matercard now and he is telling me that as of Sept. 1st there will be no CDW coverage in the following countries - Ireland, Israel, Jamaica, Australia, New Zealand, Italy. If you have a World Card they are still covering.
I am certainly bummed as we leave for Ireland Sept. 1. I just wanted to let everyone know the update as it is discussed frequently on this forum.

This has been the case with Ireland for some time. I imagine it's a holdover from the Ulster troubles.

Where do you get the World Card and how much does it cost? Is it a Mastercard?

The gentleman told me you can get it through Chase I think that # was 1-800-257-1046 and Bank of America 1-800-572-9887 along with some other ones ie Capitol One.

One of our credit cards is a "MasterCard World Card" - I can't remember the yearly fee...it seems like it's $50.
