CDG Walk then Fly???
 

Could anyone please tell me of a hotel that in close to CDG airport, we need to be at the airport at 5am, and most shuttles only run from 530. We would like to avoid a 50Euro cab fare. Is there any hotels where you could possibly walk? We have to go to Terminal 1.

I am in the same boat for next week. I have finally just decided to spend my last night in my apt in Paris and skip out on getting an airport hotel since their shuttles don't run early enough. I guess I will just book a cab for 4 am.

Anybody got any better ideas? I'm open to suggestions.

The Hilton CDG is within walking distance.

The Ibis is also in walking distance (same location as Hilton). The Sofitel is also quite close.

It is nevertheless doubtful that you would want to stay at the Hilton or the Sofitel if a 50€ taxi fare is a financial burden.

It is much cheaper to stay in Paris and pay 50E for a cab, than to stay at the Hilton.

Yes, Ira, I agree. The cab fare is not my concern, I just hate having to get up and out so frazzling early. Unfortunately, this is a free flight for me, so I had no choice in the departure time nor do I have the option of paying for a change. I will just have to grin and bear it!

Thankyou I have looked at the Sofitel. Have you walked to Terminal 1 from there? Also would you know the name of the train station at the airport that would be close when I come from city? There is also a new Automated Metro Line, does anyone know where this goes from and to?

No, I most certainly have not walked from there. I don't use airport hotels since I live in Paris. I would take a taxi.

The Ibis is at the RoissyPole area. You walk (2 minutes) to the RER station and jump onto the CDGVAL automated train toward T1

How much are you paying for your hotel in Paris? You can often get the Hilton, Sheraton or Sofitel at CDG for US$80-100 + tax/fees by bidding 4* on Priceline.

I doubt you'll get a decent hotel in Paris for 30-40EUR cheaper than that.

i have also successfully used priceline when we needed to stay at cdg the night before collecting family from flights.

but go for four star.. otherswise you could end up further away from terminals and i think the hotels are not as reliable although someone stated here they liked the marriot courtyard.

What is you exact flight time and what is your destination? If you are flying within Schengen, you can check in up to 45 minutes before departure time, so I hope you are not counting a 3-hour procedure. CDG is very calm in the early morning.

We are flying out at 0635 with Vueling to Venice, check in closes off at 45min before flight. Just wanted to get there around 5-515am so we can find where we are going and dont miss check in! Do you know what time the CDGVAL starts running

The Sheraton is IN the airport - all you need to do is take an elevator to the gates. What I did when I had one of those ungodly early flights and it worked beautifully.

But the Sheraton is in Terminal 2 -- the poster needs terminal 1.

CDGVAL is supposed to run 24 hours a day. So, won't matter if one's staying at the Sheraton or Hilton.

When I stayed at the Sheraton in the airport an employee of the hotel drove us to the other terminal at no charge. We enjoyed staying there. Here are my photos

I don't think someone wanting to avoid a 50€ taxi would plop down $400 for a room at the Sheraton.

I was only prefering to avoid the $50 cab fare and stay at a nicer hotel that would have 24hr transport. I would rather put the AUS$80 toward the hotel. I have made a booking at the Sofitel. Thankyou for your posts.

Not $400 at the Sheraton. But $80-100 bidding Priceline 4* at the Sheraton, Hilton or Sofitel.
