CDG to Paris - taxi for 3? Cost effective?

There will be 3 adults arriving in Paris at CDG. Will a taxi hold 3 plus luggage? With splitting the cost 3 ways will this be more cost effective than the shuttle? Anyone who has taken a taxi into Paris recently - what is the average fare? We arrive 8:50 AM and my friends unfortunately will probably have checked luggage. But that should put us past morning rush hour

What is your final destination?

There are at least six ways of getting from CDG to a hotel in the city, all of them described here: tinyurl.com/mpjhn

The one you choose depends on your location on the cost/convenience scale.

Paris Visitors & Convention Bureau says about taxis from CDG to Paris:

"expect an average fare of 40 euros during the day (7am-7pm) and 45 euros at night and on Sundays and holidays"

It's more like 50-55 Euro-from around the 6th arr. to CDG-when I took a taxi last September.

Hi V,

>Will a taxi hold 3 plus luggage?

Depends on how much luggage.

A shuttle is about 18E pp.

A cab will be about the same price.

Shuttles and cabs can be caught in traffic. The cab's meter keeps running.

Our hotel is on Rue Fauborg St Honore near the Arc de Triomph

..no question, with 3 people (jet laged) a taxi is essentially the same as 3 shuttles..also more convenient.
