CDG to ORLY distance
 

I am considering booking a flight that arrives at CDG at 6:20am. But our connecting flight is at ORLY at 9am.

*if* there are no delays, that gives us 2 hrs and 40 minutes. We will still need to go through customs and retrieve our bags. Will this be enough time? I personally think it's a little tight. But there may be a chance this is possible. From previous posts, the time for customs and baggage claims ranges from immediately to an hour.

The Air France bus airport transfer is every 30 minutes. Ideally catching the shuttle at 7am would be great. But... not sure I want to chance that

By the way, this is a weekday flight, will we run into traffic?

I think it's more than "a little" tight. It's "very" tight.

Your chances of making this connection are slim to none!

There is maybe a one pct chance you can make that, if you don't check any bags, but you plan to. So that makes it zero chance.

The only way there can be "zero" time upon arrival at CDG is if you didn't check bags and you were on a flight with only about 5 people and no other flights arrived around the same time. Customs doesn't take any time at all, I agree, but you have forgotten passport control/immigration, which always takes time even if there is not a real long line.

If you got the bus at 7, you probably could make that flight as you'd be there around 8 am. Even then, you might not make it at Orly due to security and baggage checkin there. I don't know requirements for flights within Europe (guessing that is the flight from Orly), but it must be at least 30 minutes before departure when you must be at the gate, I imagine.

The RER B + Orlyval takes 1h24 at 7am on a weekday, according to the RATP site.

It is highly doubtful that the Air France bus (or a taxi) could do that itinerary any faster.

Thanks so much, everyone! You've all confirmed what I was suspecting. (We're traveling with friends and we were debating on this)

And yes, thankfully, there is another flight with a 5 hour layover.
