CDG to Marais

Hi Everyone-

Can someone please tell me how to use public transportation from CDG to the Marais - specifically, 5 Rue Malher, 04? I'm getting a bit confused with which lines to use straight from the airport..

Many Thanks!

1. Look up the address on www.pagesjaunes.fr, and click the option "Plan" (you can also view photos of the street). This shows the Grand Hotel Malher as within a few steps of the St Paul metro station.

2. Look up the interactive map for the Paris public transport system at http://www.ratp.fr/en/ratp/c_21879/tourists/

http://www.ratp.fr/plan-interactif/

This would show you a route using the RER railway into Paris, changing at Chatelet-les Halles to metro line 1, direction Vincennes, for St Paul. However, Chatelet les Halles is a large interchange station and maybe not best attempted with jetlag and a lot of luggage (there will also be stairs up to the street at St Paul).

So you could come out of the RER and get a taxi; I've never used taxis in Paris, so maybe someone else with more experience could advise where's best to pick one up - I suspect from the Gare du Nord, which is the RER stop before Chatelet.

Actually there is an escalator at St Paul metro station exit.
Gare de Nord alwyas has a long line for taxis . I've waited up to an hour there. There is a taxi stand right outside of the St Michel RER metro stop. And it is a very short ride to Le Marais

Thank you both!

Patrick, I can't seem to figure out the trip planner as my french is VERY rusty (yikes). Does the RER go in only one direction from the airport and if not, can you tell which line it is? I just don't want to get on the wrong one.

I like the idea of taking the RER into the city and then hopping into a cab since the idea is just to cut out time and undue expense. So Avalon, is the St. Michel stop on the same line as Chatelet Les Halles?

Greatly appreciated.
