CDG to métro ECOLE MILITAIRE
 

can anyone give me the best path to take to get from CDG to métro ECOLE MILITAIRE. My hotel is located at 66 avenue Bosquet 75007 PARIS - métro ECOLE MILITAIRE / ligne 8. I have looked at a Metro map and see a few differnt ways to get there, but am wondering if I am correct and which route would be the fastest. Also not sure how to get from the airport to the metro - is it right in the airport somewhere?

It isn't technically the metro at the airport, it is the RER which is the suburban light-rail system (which connects to metro lines within Paris). So, you will have to look for the signs for the RER at the airport. Yes, it is right in the airport, it's right at the bottom of terminal 2F, as I recall.

I don't think speed matters much at that point after you get on, I don't choose routes based on speed that much in one sense. What matters to me is the least number of transfers, usually. Now that does affect overall time, but it's just much less hassle and trouble, mainly.

That is not the most convenient spot to get to from the airport. I'd probably transfer from the RER to lin4 at Gare du Nord, go a couple stops and transfer again to line 8 at Strasbourg/St Denis, and then that goes all the way to Ecole Militaire.

Fewest changes - RER B to Luxembourg; Bus #82 to École Militaire.

Shortest walk - RER B to Gare du Nord; Bus #42 to Alma-Marceau; Bus #80 to Bosquet-Grenelle.

It takes about the same amount of time and costs about the same as the RER, but you are above ground so you get to see a bit of Paris as you come in. It drops you off in front of the Opera, from which you can take the Metro easily to Ecole Militaire.

There is a bus that goes from the Gare du Nord to the rue St. Charles, and I believe that it passes by the Ecole Militaire.

And, in the Ecole Militaire you'll see Napoleon's stuffed dog!

take the Roissybus from CDG for 8.35 euros per person and then take line 8 at Opera metro stationtowards Balard and get off at Ecole Militaire

If you arrive at terminal 1, many north american flights do, you must take a free navette (shuttle bus) to the RER station (there is also an RER stop in terminal 2's TGV station. This will take about 15 mins once the bus gets going. Last year you had to take an elevator from arrivals area down to lower floor outside for the bus stop. Going by RER/metro ain't no piece of cake if with lots of luggage and not used to the system - RER is pretty straight forward but transferring could mean stairs and long walk (or may not) but with luggage and crowded train a pain. Strongly consider some kind of airport shuttle - some may take you right to your hotel.
