CDG to Louveciennes - how to ?

Could you please tell me how to get from CDG Airport to Louveciennes.

I'm consider also TAXI as an option but I have no idea about costs.

The easiest and most hassle free way to get there will be by taxi but I have no idea how much that will cost. Probably at least 70€, maybe more. If you want to use the train take the RER B into Paris to Châtelet-les-Halles and then switch to the RER A to La Défense. At La Défense you will switch to one of the suburban trains (line L) and that will bring you to Louveciennes. Look at the official train website www.ratp.fr and you'll find all the info there. If you are having trouble figuring out that website (only parts of it are in English) come back with questions and I'm sure they can be answered. You'll need to know the end destinations of the trains you'll be taking so that you don't get on the wrong train.

Just thought of one other public transport option for you that involves less transfers. From the airport take the Air France Bus or Roissy Bus to the Opéra in Paris. From here you can walk a few blocks to Gare Saint Lazare and get the suburban train to Louveciennes. You want to get the train in the direction of Saint-Nom-la-Bretèche-Forêt-de-Marly.

The Roissybus stops at Opera, but the Air France bus doesn't.

The fastest route would be to take the RER B from CDG to Gare du Nord, walk through the tunnels to the Magenta RER station, and take the RER E to Haussmann--Saint-Lazare which is closer to Gare Saint-Lazare than is Opera.

- RER B from CDG
- change to RER A - I need to find out on which stop? can you help ?
- at St.Germain-en-Laye change for BUS number 1.

Do I have to buy 2 ticets for travel RER B and RER A , or one bought for RER B can be also used for RER A ?

If you take the RER B from CDG you transfer to RER A at the stop Châtelet-les-Halles and take the RER A in the direction of Saint-Germain-en-Laye. AT CDG you just buy 1 ticket from there to Saint-Germain-en-Laye. This 1 ticket is good for your journey all the way to Saint-Germain-en-Laye. Remember, use the ratp.fr website I mentioned.

For a taxi, just head to the taxi stand in front of the terminal and get in the line for taxis. They all cost the same. Just make sure your taxi says Taxi Parisien on top of the car.

The fare from CDG to anywhere is central Paris is €9.10 and includes unlimited transfers until you exit the system. The fare from Gare Saint-Lazare to Louveciennes is €3.95.

If you take the RER B to Chatelet-Les Halles and the RER A from there to Saint-Germain-en-Laye, the fare is €12.45.

To complete the picture, the fare for a single ticket which you can use for bus #1 is €1.70.

The complete picture is nothing more complex than a single fare from CDG to Louveciennes via RER B to Chatelet to la Defense then train. Cost is 13.15 euros, plan on approximately 1+15 en route.

Sarastro's route (the RER B to Chatelet-Les Halles, the RER A to La Defense, and a train to Louveciennes) would require the least walking. According to the Transilien site, the fare for a single ticket is €12.45.

And that was the route outlined in my first response (minus the cost). ;)

I found 13.15€ on the RATP website. Now I am curious what it might really cost.
