CDG to Dijon
Hi, my wife and I will be arriving at 8:10AM at CDG via Air France on a weekday morning in June. We have reservations to stay with Coco in Dijon and are very excited.
Starting to look for the PREM fares over the next few days. Looking at the logistics of Gare de Lyon to Dijon. There is an 11:24AM TGT that I think would be suicide to attempt. My guess, arrive 8:10, 2 hours for bags, passport control, lines= 10:10. 15 minute wait for Air France bus (on average) and 1 hour to get to Gare de Lyon = 11:35. If everything on time and no delays. There is a 12:58 TGV that doesn't look like it typically has PREM fares, which would make it around 42Euros each for a loisir (sp), or wait until 14:28 for PREM of 17each. Don't see a good (cheap?) alternative to way around waiting until 14:28. Any thoughts? any recommendations for a light (but hot) lunch around Gare de Lyon? Best regards steve |
Are there not trains CDG directly to Dijon? You may want to go into the city but I'm not sure it is entirely necessary.

Unless I did it wrong,l the only train I saw from CDG (Roissy) was one at night, 7:21 PM I think.

I had the same situation like yours the first time I had to go from Paris to Dijon. I did not want to do the prem ticket because there were times that the plane was very delay. I just took a bus to gare de Lyon and bought the next TGV to Dijon. I called Coco to let her know. I had lunch and did not have to rush. Yes, I paid more for the train fare but ---so what? If I miss that train with the prem fare, I would lose the whole ticket anyway.

Thanks. Any lunch recommendations?

I'm very angry with my mayor. When I saw your posting Steve, it reminded me of an article in the local newspaper in 2007, talking about an additional connection to and from Paris CDG. It should have taken place in Dec 2008 and still nothing! If you can read French http://www.bienpublic.com/archives/a...mjj=20070921&g
There were supposed to be a TGV from CDG to Dijon at 11am and one leaving Dijon at 6pm. I wrote him today through his website and I'm waiting for an answer. I'm afraid gg's suggestion is the best thing to do and most of my guests do so when they're landing on the same day. A bientot and good luck! coco |
A while back, there was a post rec. restaurants near gare de Lyon. See whether you can search with 'gare de Lyon'. Again, this depends on how much time you have. I just grabbed a baguette sandwich which I love anyway - jambon et beurre ou jambon et fromage and a bottle of Orangiana. I am jealous!

Thanks to everyone. Have booked the 14:28 Prem. that allows almost 3 hours of cushion. If all is on schedule, time for a meal, if not, a very healthy cushion - and at least time to grab a sandwich for the train.
GeorgieGirl, thanks, found the postings for food recommendations. Coco, it seems that polititians are the same the world over, they promise, maybe they plan, but delivery is hard. C'est la vie. Looking forward to seeing you. Steve |
A bientot Steve, I've just emailed you about where to meet at the train station. No answer from the mayor so far...

Steve my email was rejected by your 2 mail boxes #-O. Do you have a third one you could use (or even an screen name on tripadvisor since we cannot write each here)?
