CDG to Champs
 

Please help with transportation from CDG. Arriving to terminal 2A on Sunday morning at 0825hrs. Hotel is on corner of Rue La Boetie and Saint Honore (Hotel Rochester).
Would like to take the RER and then the metro. I am having a hard time sorting it out, even when looking at RER map. Are the RER and metro transfer points in the same station?

They share stations usually, but you will most likely have to walk through tunnels and up and down stairs to make the change. You will need separate tickets for the Metro and the RER.

On any metro map, any station with a white circle or oblong shape has a 'correspondence' with whatever lines intersect there. If there is an RER line, the quai is also in the same underground system.

I believe you would take RER-B from CDG to Chatelet-les Halles, then transfer to Metro Line 1 to nearest stop (maybe George V or Fr. D. Roosevelt..?)

You can do this transfer on the same ticket that you bought for the RER.

You would have to get off the RER at Gare du Nord and transfer to Metro line 4 in the direction of Port d'Orleans. The third stop along is where you would get off at Metro stop Strasbourg St. Denis and transfer to line 9 in the direction of Pont de Sevres. The 8th stop along would be your final stop and you would get off the metro at station St.Philippe du Roule.
I don't recommend doing any of this rigmaroll! Go as far as Gare du Nord and get a cab/taxi to your hotel.

My route is simpler and is the default of the route-planner on ratp.fr

Takes about 1 hour (the RER stretch takes about 40 minutes).

The stop on line 1 is FDR. From there, it's about 3 blocks.

The RER/metro option is cheaper, but dragging bags around public transportation is not fun, especially if you're arriving jet-lagged after an overnight flight. Why not take the Air France bus (available to anyone, not just those flying Air France) instead? The drop-off point is Charles-de-Gaulle Etoile, about 2 blocks from your hotel. Price is about 12 euros one way, 18 euros return per person.

Your easiest metro stop is Franklin D. Roosevelt.
RER B to Châtelet-Les Halles (there will be a long moving walkway) and then metro line 1. In any case, Sunday morning is a snap.

Fare is 8.10 and the same ticket is good for both the RER and the metro.

Travelnut & Kerouac are right on the money! Much better route now that I study the map again.

I agree Sunday morning is going to be fairly easy if you want to do that, why not. I would agree with the Air France bus option if your hotel really were only a couple blocks from it, but the corner of Boetie and St Honore is much longer than two blocks away from the AF bus stop at the Etoile. It's probably about 8.

I think I'd take the Roissybus to Opéra, change to the N° 52 RATP bus, and alight in front of the hotel. No schlepping luggage through subway tunnels, and no climbing up out of the ground.

Walk down Rue Scribe in the direction the Roissybus is pointed, and turn right onto Boulevard des Capucines. The stop marked "52 Parc de Saint-Cloud" just beyond Rue Edouard VII is your stop.
