Had very similiar experience just last week-it really is deserted. I hadn't checked in the rental car so locked myself in that. So does any one have a suggestion for a good close hotel to CDG not expensive that I can suggest that my daughter stay in before her very early flight for CDG?
Thanks

I'm sorry ayakkadan, but your story doesn't make sense...

If you didn't have a Schengen visa, then you were in the airside "sterile" area of CDG, and all other people present were either fellow passengers or terminal-based employees (i.e. shop clerks, cleaning staff, police etc.). So it's hard to believe that someone would just be loitering there.

That said, I do indeed find that the landside areas at CDG2 can get pretty eery late at night, due to the fact that there's no concentration of passengers in a single large arrivals area - but I don't linger ;-)

A person who behaves strangely is not the same as a dangerous person. There are a lot of mentally disturbed people in large cities who behave very strangely, but—with very rare exceptions—they are harmless.
