CDG meeting - another thread my apologies

Hey everyone

I'm aware there are a thousand threads online about this already, I just thought I'd check to see if my plan so far is alright.

My friend is flying in with United at 1000am, which I think is terminal 1. I've never picked anyone up there (never even been). Is there only one exit from customs? I can't afford to miss them. I've told them that as a fallback if I'm not waiting to go to Starbucks, as there's only one in this terminal?

Am I correct in this plan? I don't want them wandering lost ha. Any better locations I'd be happy to hear

Any advice is welcome, thank you

Just wait for the person at the international customs exit. There are video screens that will inform you when to expect the person to walk out, because the flights are listed with 3 different notifications: 1. flight has touched down 2. plane has arrived at gate 3. baggage delivery has started

Thanks I realise I can meet them at the gate, I was more looking for a fallback option? I've heard the McDonalds is probably best for that?

Why on earth would you need a fallback option? That would be for the other person to wait for you if you did not show up as expected. Do you think that you might be delayed? I would imagine that you will be hanging around the airport no matter what, even if the flight is 1, 2, 3, 4 hours late. The McDonald's is several levels away from the arrival zone -- you are looking for trouble if you want to move around to weird places when neither you nor your friend is familiar with the airport.

Yeah, don't go hunting down the MacDonald's. It's nowhere nearby. The ONLY place you can be sure to see them is at the arrival gate - unless they don't actually arrive. Why mess with the certain option? They HAVE to come through there. That's why in every airport in the world, private drivers and families/friends are standing at that exact spot with signs that say, e.g., Travinsky Family, and Joe Bloe, and Windemere Choir Group.

Also, do you have cell phones that work in France? If so, the minute your friend arrives you can talk her to where you are (not that she won't be going there anyway).
