CDG Help URGENT
Hi All, I will be arriving into CDG at 2:55pm into 2D and departing from 2F at 5:40pm
as it is with different airlines I will need to pick up my bags and re check in.... will I have enough time? thanks heaps Chris |
"<i>as it is with different airlines I will need to pick up my bags and re check in</i>"
Not necessarily. Depends on which airlines. Except for the budget airlines that don't interline, one is usually able (almost always in fact) to check bags through. And sometimes even get both boarding passes at the first departure airport. If you land on time you <i>should</i> have enough time. But in any case I'd ask to have my luggage checked through. |
Probably, assuming your incoming flight is on time. What airlines? If you don't have checked baggage, it's more likely.
|
thanks Janish do you know if I can check bags all the way Czech Airlines then with alitalia
|
thanks I will have checked bags
|
do you think I will be ok with checked bags?
|
First - take a deep breath.
Now, is this two separate tickets? Or one ticket that includes legs on different airlines? If the former, when you check in for the first leg you can have your bag checked through to your final destination. If the latter, you can request it at first check in but be sure to have the second ticket available to show the agent. Also, what is your point of origin? |
thank you, sorry I am very nervous as my first time to europe.
They are 2 seperate tickets, coming in from prague to paris then paris to Rome. |
Two separate tickets means you purchased two different tickets and made two payments. You didn't book all at once? Alitalia and Czech Airlines are both Skyteam so it shouldn't be a problem checking luggage all the way through.
|
yeah I made them on different days on different websites, Ok well thats great news I will make sure I travel with both pritned tickets with me at check in, thanks

It seems some changes are happening on interlined luggage because of different airlines charging different fees, etc. It appears the days of interlined luggage are numbered unless they all adopt the same charges/restrictions.

I hope that cw made it.
This is an excellent example of why young people should be given homework in school. It helps develop the realization that one must do some planning before setting off half cocked. ((I)) |
It should be enough time (barely), but this is the typical example for people asking questions without giving any real details. The actual flights you are taking (origin-destination-name of airline) are extremely important to know, because knowing the airline and knowing the size of the plane are important, not to mention whether it is an intercontinental flight, a European flight, a Schengen flight, etc...
If you don't tell us any real information, we can't help. |
Okay, I read what I missed, and this connection should not be a problem at all -- Skyteam airlines and Schengen flights.
