LCBoniti - AF has three daily flights CDG-LAX. 10:15a, 1:15p & 7:30p. So depending on which flight you missed, and which one they reschedule you on, you may or may not have time to go into Paris.

The RER train goes directly from airport to central Paris.

Thank you, rkkwan!

LCBonti-- If you don't want to deal with the crowds on the RER (or pickpockets), The Roissy bus picks you up at terminal 2C (where most international flights arrive) and is non-stop to the Opera. I haven't taken it in a couple of years (we use shuttles) but it probably cost around 10 Euro by now. It is fast, convenient, non-stop, and relatively cheap.

Parisnow -
Thanks for the info. That would be perfect! Now just hope for a substantial delay (non-harmful to anyone, of course!) How much transit time do you think I would need?

sdl1217 Please let us know if you make your connections. We had the worst experience with Air France at CDG trying to make connections. both times they refused to board us, and it was terrible. I can type this now that your one your way, I wouldn't want to stress you before hand. Good Luck

I would give at least 1 hour each way, no less than 45 minutes. It should take less time than that but you never know about traffic. How anyone can drive in that city is beyond me! And give yourself time to fight your way around in the airport/security/to your gate.

Oh, and don't think the RER will always beat street traffic/bus. I have had several RER's come to a dead stop for various reason's.
