CDG airport to Paris

Taking train from CDG to Paris. Hotel royalphare 40 Ave de la Motte Picquet.

RER B to Chatelet change to 14 (Madeleine ) change to line 8 (Balard) to Ecole Militaire. Is this the best way?

Some people say to avoid Chatelet because the walks can be long. You could get off the RER at St Michel. From there RER again going West to get Metro at Invalides, or walk couple blocks to Odeon and Metro Line 10 to La Motte Picquet, and transfer to get to Ecole Militaire.

RER B to metro line 14 is a short connection at Châtelet.

You might prefer to take the Roissybus from CDG to Opéra and take line 8 from Opéra direct to Ecole Militaire. A few euros more, of course.

www.ratp.com

Recommends

RER B to Gare du Nord
Metro 4 to Starsbourg St Denis (direction Orleans)
Metro 8 to Ecole Militaire (direction Balard)

Total time 52 minutes (estimate)

I agree with Michel; that is the path that I was going to recommend.

I was also going to recommend buying the Streetwise Paris Map. The Metro system is colour coded on this map and makes getting around Paris a snap.

A similar question: the easiest way (two mildly impaired travelers with the group) from CDG airport to hotel near Luxumberg Gardens.

Any help?
