CDG airport to Neuilly sur Seine - best way?

I have considered a private shuttle transfer from CDG to our apartment on Av. Charles de Gaulle(Neuilly sur Seine), but am having 2nd thoughts. I now have a few hours to kill before we can check in, so thought it makes sense to take a more economical mode. Does anyone recommend the airport bus to the city, then a taxi to apartment? Not quite sure on the level of "hassle" this represents? Will have come all the way from Australia.

Thanks

One possibility is taking the Air France bus to the Etoile (Arc de Triomphe) drop off point and a taxi or mass transit from there.
However, if you can drop your luggage off even if you can't actually get into the apartment, I would still go for the taxi...you'll have just finished a LONG flight, why not treat yourself a little.

Just to give you an idea of prices, and I don't know how much help this will be. But we took taxis to Blvd Victor Hugo in Neuilly sur Seine from Le Meridien Montparnasse (across from Gare Montparnasse) and that cost between 17-20 € one way, depending on which route taken, traffic, etc.

I would endorse the idea of a taxi anyway. After a long flight you will feel like it was worth it.

If you decide to take the Air France coach, getting off at Porte Maillot rather than Charles de Gaulle Etoile will leave you with a shorter taxi ride.

I'd probably take the Air France bus to Porte Maillot, also (this is the same bus as the one to Etoile -- I think sometimes it stops first at the Etoile and sometimes at Porte Maillot), as long as you have some time to kill. It depends how many of you there are, though -- as the bus fare for each person will be about 9 euro one-way. Then, you will take a taxi to the apt. from there. There will be plenty of taxis around that location, no worry on that point. I like the Air France bus, also, just for the ride. I think it would make sense to do that as long as there aren't three or more of you. It shouldn't be any major hassle.

I would rather do that than a private shuttle, but I don't care for that kind of system (having to make arrangements, call, meet them, deal with it if they don't show or are late, etc.).

Dear Christina,

Sounds like sensible advice to me. Thanks for that.
