CDG Airport to Lyon
 

Does anyone know of bus service between CDG and Lyon (similar to the Lufthansa bus from Frankfurt to Heidelberg)? Air connections are not to our liking and TGV is $204 r/t per person. Going on a Rhone river cruise Lyon to Lyon in March.<BR>thanks!

I don't know how you got this rate but I just checked www.sncf.fr and RT from CDG to Lyon is around 118.00 Euros (depending on what time of the day). If you decide to fly from CDG RT is US $132.00 and it takes only 1hr and 10 minutes.

An Air France bus goes from CDG right to Gare de Lyon ($13) where you can catch a train at probably an even cheaper price.

Take the TGV from CDG to Lyon -- it's easiest and fastest. Just make sure you allow enough time (2 hours) between arrival and the train. Bite the bullet on the money -- some things are worth it, and this is one of them (I've been taking the TGV from CDG to Lyon for years).

I would just fly since Air France tickets are inexpensive and you could have your bags checked all the way through from xxx (wherever you are coming from). If I am arriving in Paris after a long flight the last thing is to get on a train for a long time and be alert about my stuff. <BR>Try do not fall in sleep and watch your things.

That price you are quoting appears to be for a first-class seat through Raileurope. If you are willing to take the bus, I think you can go second class train, and Raileurope marks up tickets some, also. Real fare bought in France would probably be about the same as the airfare without any advanced purchase deals. I did that once and it was a little over $100 RT, as I recall.

Joann, checked this week from CDG to Lyon and it was $90.00 roundtrip on AirFrance. You might want to look into it again.<BR>Happy travels....
