CDG airport hotel
Hi all. We are in need of a hotel near CDG for one night in November. We'll be arriving from Sicily at 2 in the afternoon and fly home at 11:00 am the next day. We're travelling with a little one so we thought it would be easier to stay near the airport instead of schleping all of our stuff into Paris proper. Does anyone have any recommendations-I know there is a Novotel on the airport property proper.

Hilton in terminal 2 i believe Novotel on periphery www.accorhotels.com for Novotel and other accor brands higher or lower - all on periphery with shuttle buses to termini.
|
"Schleping" is one of my favorite words. I thought I was the only one who used it anymore. :)
|
Dottee, one of my favorites too and at the end of a 2 week trip, that's definately what we'd be doing, SCHLEPING!

Priceline a 4* hotel at CDG. You'll get the Sheraton (right at CDG2), Hilton (at the CDG1/3 RER/CDGVAL station), or the Sofitel (short shuttle bus). $80-100 + tax/fees with do it. Best value.
|
Thanks. Are these hotels accessible to the RER into Paris? We were hoping to dump our things but head into the city for dinner.

The RER stops in Terminals 1 and 2, so you are either right there in the Sheraton or Hilton, or a shuttle ride away at the Sofitel. Dottee - Google reports the following uses at Fodor's: schlep 601 schleping 85 schlepping 682 You and swalter are hardly alone. |
I think I used the word today in a post about schlepping luggage to Pompeii...but then I am from New York...
|
Thanks Robespierre. Is one of the hotels better than the other?
|
I've never stayed at any of them, but I like Sofitels more than Hiltons more than Sheratons.

Bonjour!
Last fall I stayed at the Courtyard by Marriott @ CDG; I was very pleased...so much so that I will stay there once again this year. Happy Travels. |
I've stayed at the Courtyards by Marriott 3 times in the last couple of years and really like it. They have a shuttle, which costs 5E roundtrip. The restaurant is quite nice.
When I went to France in May, however, their price was higher than I wanted to pay, so I Pricelined for 4-star and got the Hilton. It was fine for the price I got (110E), but I actually prefer the Marriott. The Hilton had a HUGE breakfast buffet, which was included with the room. I didn't know that, and when I asked in the morning, the hostess said it was 25E. When I started to walk away, she quickly said, "but it's included with room". |
Our flight was cancelled so we had to stay at the Hilton (provided by the Airlines). After a bad lunch, we opted for the "gourmet restaurant" for dinner, and had the worst meal I have ever had. We spent so much time that afternoon working out details of our flight out the next day that we could not go into the city to eat. Hotel is fine; food is BAD. Boots

The Sheraton is GREAT!
|
I think so, too. We loved being able to walk right to the Sheraton from our flight. Very nice hotel. And the RER station is right outside the front door (well, down the escalator).
|
i've always enjoyed the sofitel there at cdg.
|
Although not cheap, the Courtyard by Marriott was nicer than any I've stayed in in Oregon.

I noticed on biddingfortravel that someone won a 4* CDG Priceline bid for the Millenium Hotel. It is not yet listed on the hotel page of BFT.
