CDG 2E to 2G (Delta to AF)
 

I recently was required to transit from Terminal 2E to 2G at CDG. As I had about an hour and one half between flights from the US and continuing on to Frankfurt. I could find very little explaining the process and believed that I would br required to walk 2E to 2F, exit 2 and catch a bus left me quite nervous.

The transfer took about 30 minutes and required going through security in terminal 2E, boarding a bus, directly to 2G and processing through passport control at 2G. There were no lines, either at security or passport control. I landed 2E about 8 AM and was in 2G thirty minutes later. A word of caution, your flight is called 30 minutes prior to departure and closed 20 minutes to departure at 2G.

Just to add a note for passengers coming from Paris downtown by public transport, yes You first have to find your way to CDG 2F exit 2 at departure level to board a shuttle bus for T2G. Allow for 20 mns more than if You were flying from the other CDG2 terminals.
Taxis Will drop You right at door of T2G

A larger party of friends and family recently flew to and from Morocco via CDG with Air France, some of them on different dates with different flights. In total, we had six flights in our party, so it was quite a sample.

Not a single connection of these six worked smoothly. In 100% of the cases, the incoming flight (operated by Air France) was late, thus reducing the transfer time.

In two out of six cases, the connecting flight was missed (although in the airplane the passengers were told that they would get their connecting flight), causing unwelcome overnight stays in a most primitive budget hotel near CDG.

In the other four cases, the connecting flight could be caught only because the passengers were virtually running through the terminal building, never able to stop for for a pit stop, not to speak of grabbing a sandwich or duty free shopping. Elderly passengers would have missed these four connections, too.

Interestingly, at the security checkpoint the stuff shrugged the shoulders and said "it's always the same with Air France".

Lesson learned: We will never fly again with Air France, if there is another option. Even if the price is twice as high.

Good for you. I like people who pay double. It makes things cheaper for the rest of us.
