Catching Train from Manchester Airport
Hi can anyone advise me on the following: Arriving Manchester T3 with hand baggage only at 1840. We want to catch a train at 1920 giving us 40 minutes to land, clear passport control/customs and get to the train station. Is that feasible does anyone know? If not we have a long wait of 2 hours plus for next train. Are we better to be safe than sorry as the tickets can only be used on the booked reservation? Any advice would be appreciated.

I wouldnt count on it. Even if you get through the airport in time, what if your plane is late for any reason? You have no leeway at all.
I would book the later train and then have a coffee at the airport if I have extra time.

Where are you going and when? If it's on a TransPennine route then they have a rule whereby if your plane is late you don't automatically lose your ticket. Then again there may be other options you don't know about

Thanks for your replies and advice. It is indeed Transpenine but as one of the members pointed out it is cutting it fine. Looks like it will be a long boring wait and a midnight train - argh!!!
