Catching Connecting Flights

Hi

I'm travelling to visit a friend in Norway and am have to make several connections in order to get to my destination. The flight times I have been given are as follows..

Depart:Manchester (Airport)
2007-05-09 06:05:00

Arrive:Amsterdam(Schiphol Intl) 2007-05-09 08:30:00

Depart: Amsterdam (Schiphol Intl)2007-05-09 09:25:00

Arrive: Oslo 2007-05-09 11:15:00

Depart: Oslo 2007-05-09 12:34:00
Arrive: Sandane (Adna) 2007-05-09 13:37:00

I've never had to catch a connecting flight and this might sound really stupid....but is there a set amount of time you need to leave between flight so I can check in?? Are these flight times realistic??

Help!!!!

There isn't a set time. IT depends on the airport and the terminals. We regularly make 40 minute comnnections through Schipol (whether or not our luggage does is a bit of a lottery). Oslo i know nothing about.

There is a set time. Each airline/airport have their own "legal" connection times.

If you are traveling on 1 ticket then you are "protected" but if 2 separate tickets then you are on your own if the first flight is late. The second airline does not have to honor your ticket if you don't show up on time for check in.

NOTICE: I said, they don't have to, not that they won't.

Provided your luggage is through checked and your flight arrives on schedule, 55 min should be enough time to make the connection in Amsterdam. You'll need to go through passport control and a security check. Amsterdam is a very large (but efficient) airport so walk fast. No knowledge of Oslo.

Is this one or multiple tickets? What airlines?

Thanks everyone!! I'm bookin the ticket with an on line company called online travel.com.

I believe It's a single ticket and I will be flying with KLM from Manchester to Schipol and from Schipol to Oslo. I then fly onto Sande with FlyGlobeSpan...fingers crossed all will be ok!!!

Did you know Ryanair fly from Liverpool to "Oslo" Torp. Bit of a swine getting to the real Oslo airport from there but it sounds preferable to getting oodles of airmiles
