Catalonia road trip

Hi all. I will traveling to Catalonia in early May with my two adult sons. We have 3 nights booked in Barcelona, then we will be renting a car. We then have one night reserved in Girona, and then one at Monserrat. We have only two more nights and we thought it might be nice to stay in one place (of course we will have a car to tour the area). We are thinking of either Cardona or Montblanc. Which would you choose? Or would you choose another town?

Have you considered three nights in Girona and exploring the area around there? Plenty to do and see..

I would check out Sant Miquel del Fai, a park with tremendous natural and cultural assets, from waterfalls and grottoes to a monastery.

I'm with rialtogrl,
I would consider 3 nights in Girona and use it as a base to day trip, to Begur on the coast, to Figueres for the Dalí Teatre-Museu, to medieval Besalú, to the Garrotxa and on and on....

Totally agree. I would do three nights in Girona. Without wanting to detract from Cardona and other places, any corner of the province of Girona is far better than any other...
